The Future

The completion of the current $4.8 million campaign for Springdale and Deepdene will be a triumphant conclusion to the effort to rehabilitate the Olmsted Linear Park. To ensure the future vitality of the park, OLPA has reserved funds to enhance the maintenance provided by the city and county. Completing this long-term support is one of the important goals of this final phase of development.

As the Linear Park has been revitalized, the community has responded enthusiastically. When the restoration is complete, OLPA looks forward to new opportunities to collaborate with area organizations to expand environmental and conservation programs. Using the park as a tool, teachers can help students learn about the landscape in a hands-on way. Many other possibilities exist to expand educational and recreational experiences for park visitors of all ages.

Landscapes move us in a manner more nearly analogous to the action of music than to anything else…Gradually and silently the charm comes over us, the beauty has entered our souls; we know not exactly when or how. - Frederick Law Olmsted Sr.
