Chirp & Chalk: Explore, Restore & Create in Deepdene Forest

Whether you're an avid birder, a nature lover, an aspiring artist, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend a Saturday morning, join us for this fun, family-friendly event where there's something for everyone.

The day begins with a guided bird walk led by Birds Georgia. Bird enthusiasts will discover the remarkable diversity of bird species that call Deepdene home and learn why a healthy forest is essential to their survival.

Following the walk, volunteers will help restore the forest habitat by removing invasive plants. OLPA and Birds Georgia will share insights into native plants, bird habitat, and the importance of ongoing forest stewardship.

At 10:00 am, families and visitors of all ages are also invited to gather at the Mead for a fun chalk art activity while enjoying snacks and refreshments. Compete for fun prizes in the chalk art contest or just have fun watching others work.
